Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve

This nature reserve (7750 ha) is not only known for its wildlife. Amongst other species Eland, Bontebok, Springbok, baboon, ostrich and zebra can be spotted easily. Another major attraction is the fynbos vegetation (Protea, Erica) so typical for the Cape.
The main road leads you directly to Cape Point with the old lighthouse. Here you can use a cable car (or walk) to a majestic view point. From some 200 m above sea level you can overlook Cape of Good Hope on the western side as well as False Bay to the East. If the weather is clear you will see the Hottentots Holland Mountains near Somerset West and Cape Hangklip near Bettie’s Bay. You can either drive down to the Cape of Good Hope or hike along a path.
Beware of baboons while travelling to the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve. Never feed them! Just have a look at their jaws to realise how dangerous they can be.
The hungry traveller has the choice between a kiosk and the famous 2-Oceans-Restaurant.
