Knysna & Knysna National Park, Brenton-on-Sea, Prince Albert's Pass

accommodation, activities...

Knysna & Knysna National Park
The attractive town of Knysna is situated along a lagoon. Knysna lagoon is famous for its oysters that can be enjoyed in the Knysna Oyster Company. Shopping in the narrow streets of the city centre or at the Waterfront is a delight. Many artists chose to live here.
Due to the central situation Knysna is the hub of the Garden Route. The main attractions of this area like Wilderness, Plettenberg Bay or Tsitsikamma are within easy reach.
Cruises on the lagoon, excursions to Featherbed Nature Reserve or diving are some of the attractions on offer.
Via “the Heads” the lagoon is connected to the ocean. At "the Heads" you can enjoy panoramic views of the town, the lagoon, the ocean and the mountains in the backdrop. When you climb down from here to the sea some nice little beaches and caves can be explored.
Like anywhere else along the Garden Route the Outeniqua mountains offer good hiking opportunities. The huge forests along the mountains can also be enjoyed on foot. There are still a few elephants roaming freely through the Knysna forests!

Brenton-on-Sea
If you would like to visit a nice beach close by you should travel to Brenton-on-Sea. Here you can enjoy the sea at its best. On the way to that beautiful spot it is worse while to visit the little Belvidere Church.

Prince Albert's Pass
The scenic route via the Prince Alfred's Pass (gravel) on R339 is also a interesting experience.

The old steam railway Outeniqua Choo Tjoe runs daily from Knysna to George and back with stops in Wilderness and Sedgefield. Enjoy the lovely views during your journey.
