Sparse and fascinating sceneries
are typical for the Northern Cape, "the hidden jewel".
This province stretches from the Atlantic Ocean in the West to the capital of the
province, Kimberly in the East. The main attractions of this arid region
(for the Northern Cape coastline please check the “West Coast”) are
Kgalagadi Transfrontier National Park and Augrabies Falls.
These destinations can also be visited on the way from Cape Town
to Namibia (or vice-versa). Mafikeng is the capital of North West Province. This is a
mining and cattle farming area. Kuruman situated along the N14
is the last town in the Northern Cape before you enter North West
Province.
